I fell in love with this home as soon as I entered it. It was built in 1890 and the history spoke to me. We have completely renovated this home the winter of 2020. We took our home all the way down to the studs. We have all new wiring, heating, plumbing and we are especially excited about our brand new kitchen and bathrooms. I wanted to bring alive its history as well as its great location. Also as this is a new listing we don't have many reviews yet. Our home has a screened in wrap around porch with the view of Crystal Lake. It is so inviting, I had to be here. I love to watch the rainstorms from the porch, sip my morning coffee on one of the comfy chairs or have a cup of tea and talk to a friend. Maybe you would like to enjoy and evening glass of wine from the comfy rocking chair and watch the sun set or just hold your loved ones hand. There is lots of room for the family with its 3 bedrooms including a huge bunk room that can sleep 8. I can see childhood cousins becoming best friends, and making great lifetime memories playing in there while the parents are playing cards at the large kitchen table late into the evenings. There are also two bathrooms so even with large parties the wait time is cut in half for "their turn" :). We have also included makeup areas in each room to help cut the bathroom time for everyone as this house can sleep 12 in beds. Each of the bedrooms have a beautiful view of the lake as well. You could not ask for a better location. Our home has a large grassy private beach on the South side of Crystal Lake. This is were a lot of people moor their boats as it gets the least amount of summer winds. This home is on the Betsie Valley Bike Trail where you can ride all the way to Thompsonville or all the way into Frankfort and have a nice lunch and/or catch an art fair. We are also about a block to the Beulah Park with its, tennis court, pickle ball court, free concerts on summer Thursday nights, FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS AND FESTIVITIES, art shows, Fall Festivals, restaurants, brewery, coffee house, and unique shops. This home has so much to offer. It has a large private Crystal Lake Beach, Two parking spaces in front of the garage, easy walk to town, access to the bike trail, plenty of grass and space for the kids to play outside. The 4th of July fireworks are going to be perfect from this location. It sits on a little 25mph road that I have actually seen children play their summer soccer game in the middle of - with the big net goals and everything. The beach is on the other side of the road, however it isn't traveled very much, mostly just the people to live on it.

Our property is located on crystal-clear Crystal Lake, known as one of the ten most beautiful inland lakes in the world. Our home is quaint and inspiring. Outside the door, and just across a lightly used one lane road, is 60 feet of frontage on the lake. In regard to the one lane road: It is a public street, but is used primarily by the owners and renters on the south side of Crystal Lake. Most of the traffic you will experience will be bikers, joggers, and walkers. Yes, for the safety of all staying at the cottage, you do have to be aware of the occasional cars that slowly drive by, but for the most part the car traffic is limited to the people living in the cottages over the summer. We have sand for the kids to play in, and a nice dock to swim, lounge, or watch the sunsets from each night. The lake is nine miles in length and up to two miles in width. It is great for fishing and all water sports. We even have a mooring for your boat. There is a nice fire pit for making s'mores or to sit around in the evening. A 'rail-to-trail' is available just outside the front door that gives the outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to walk, jog, or bike upon. The full length of the trail is about 24 miles. We are only one mile from the small town of Beulah, Michigan. It has nice shops for the shoppers. It is a small town that takes you back to living in the late 50's and 60's, minus all the typical franchises that often decorate most other cities. There is even a neat drive-in theater (Cherry Bowl) just down M-31 about three miles from Beulah. It has double features each evening. Everybody just loves it. It was built in 1953 and still has that 50's environment (Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean etc.). The beautiful city of Frankfort, Michigan is only five miles West of our cottage. The home has just gone through significant updating in the kitchen and lower living room areas. The home is fully equipped and all new appliances this year. The home is only a couple hundred feet from the waters edge and shared gathering area. There is also a larger beach area a couple min up the road. The home has 4 bedroom/sleeping quarters. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed. The 2nd floor bedroom has a king bed and small sitting area and its own full bathroom. There is a small walkout balcony off the sitting area as well. This room has a spiral staircase that leads to the 3rd story loft. The spacious loft has a queen bed, sitting area, and half bathroom. There is also a private deck off of this area to enjoy your morning coffee. The bunkhouse room is the biggest of all the sleeping quarters and is great for kids. The bunk house has 2 queen beds, a triple twin bunk beds (kids LOVE it) and a loft with a queen. There is a foosball table and tv to keep everyone entertained. The bunkhouse has its own full bath. The town of frankfort is about 5miles from us. It has a terrific beach and is a great place to watch the sunset. Frankfort has some cute local boutiques for shopping and a mix of different restaurants. If you are not familiar with the Frankfort area, you will find that there is something for EVERYONE. Crystal Mountain is 15min from us and offers great golf and winter skiing. The best golf course in the state, Arcadia Bluffs, is a short 20min drive. Sleeping Bear Dunes (rated one of the best national parks in the US) is 30-40 min drive. The are miles of nature hiking/biking trails. Lighthouses. Sand Dunes. So so much to do. Did I mention Crystal lake is absolutely breathtaking? It is the 9th largest lake in Michigan. It is amazingly clear and blue. It offers great fishing and is 1 of only 2 lakes in Michigan with a sustained coho salmon population. There is a DNR boat launch a mile up the road and a small marina on the lake to gas up during your stay. Our home is approximately 250ft from the lake. Mollineaux beach is less than a mile from the home. Our focus is families and making year over year memories. "Party" groups need not apply. We can split the rental to accommodate two separate groups of 12 or fewer at a reduced rate. ** The Beach House is a turn-of-the-century, twenty-room home that was used as a boarding house for young college women working in the large luxury hotels of the lumbering era in Northwestern Michigan. The charm remains with quaint living rooms, individual kitchens and bathrooms in each of the five living quarters. There are 2 one-bedroom, 2 two-bedroom units, and a three bedroom which are rented together, making it ideal for a family gathering! Each place includes a flat screen TV with built in DVD, fully equipped kitchen, refrigerator, and range. There is a common picnic area and gas grills on the side lawn and a huge deck on the second floor overlooking the lake. If you have a special request, ask to see if we can accommodate it. The house is located within feet of the east end of Crystal Lake, between the children's playground and boat launch on Beulah's town beach. The bike trail that connects Thompsonville and Frankfort is just around the corner. There are also several restaurants and shops in this quaint community. If you are ready for more exploring, Frankfort, Elberta Beach, Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Point Betsie, are all within a short drive. Our cottage has a beautiful private sandy beach with sandy lake bottom too, with lots of seating and toys. Our cottage is ideal for 5 (our price is based on 6 guests) and we have had up to 11 with enjoyment for all. For sleeping we have a QUEEN SLEEP NUMBER BED in main bedroom (sleeps 2). There is a double bed with a twin top bunk in lower level bedroom with another twin under the double bed (that room will sleep 4) plus another all purpose room/bedroom with twin trundle bed (sleeps 2). We have had guests bring their own air mattresses and bedding to fit more people. We can discuss this, we are pretty much happy if you are. Amazing view in the main living area. Galley style kitchen including cooking utensils, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, refrigerator/freezer and coffee maker. This is a small kitchen so if your interested in lots of inside cooking with room for multiple people cooking with you this might not be the kitchen for you. Table sits 6 comfortably with two tables on deck and picnic table outside. There is also a table at the deck on the beach with a large awning for shade. We have a charcoal grill for guest and there is a cooler down at the beach for guests as well under the awning. The deck has a fantastic view with seating. There are lots of toys for the little one down at the beach. While supplies last... Parents must get the toys our for their child. Parents please put the toys away for the next guest. Many parents trust their children to do it and this does not work. The parents must make sure the toys are back where they belong. For the adults there is a canoe, 2 kayaks, and blow up/float toys. (To be used at your own risk of course.) All while supplies last... This cottage is our happy place. We waited our entire lives to find this home on Crystal lake. It was built by a student of Francis Lloyd Wright and you can see it in his attention to detail and love he put into this house. When I walk into my cottage my troubles just seem to melt away from my shoulders. I can breathe easier. I sleep better. I wake up in the mornings and have my coffee on the peaceful balcony and watch the quiet, calm lake and just breathe. I make a pitcher of iced tea and take it out to the beach along with my favorite book and read until the sun tells me it's time to jump in the lake or float on my float tubes. I usually end up in the kayak or on a paddle board watching the sandy bottom go by and counting fish. When we start to get hungry we bbq on the grill. In the evening we light a fire in the lake side fire place and make smores as we watch the sun set. Then we search for constellations and count shooting stars. Our beach is pretty private so I usually end up sneaking back into the lake for a midnight swim to cool down, float on my back and watch the stars some more. Then we go sit in the balcony for a late night glass of wine. We go to bed and get lulled to sleep by the lapping of the lake on the shore line. When cleaning surfaces, we will wear disposable gloves, which will be discarded after each use. For disinfection, we will be using effective products like alcohol solutions containing at least 70% alcohol, diluted household bleach solutions, and household disinfectants like Lysol, pinesol etc. There is a big shortage of these products on the shelves at this time, but if they are not available, we will make our own solution using five tablespoons of bleach with a gallon of water or four teaspoons of bleach with a quart of water. Soft surfaces, such as rugs, drapes, and carpets, will be cleaned with products made for them. After cleaning, they will be laundered and dried before next use. When washing these items, we will use the warmest water setting they can handle as heat can kill off the virus. For items that will be put into the laundry, we will again use disposable gloves that can be tossed in the trash afterward to keep our furnished rental safe. Laundry from someone with coronavirus can be cleaned with items from those who are not affected. While we will be taking every possible steps to keep our renters safe, these recommendations change on a day-to-day basis. We recommend that Renter’s exercise social distancing and precautions to keep themselves safe during their upcoming vacation. We also ask that your personal laundry be done offsite., and the washer and dryer are used only for rental linens and towels. The Inn at Beulah Beach, formerly a B&B, is a unique and unforgettable property. You'll feel like you are renting out your own hotel right across from the sandy shore of Crystal Lake and only a block from Downtown Beulah. The sprawling main floor features living, dining, game room, coffee bar, full-size commercial kitchen and two half bathrooms. On the second floor there are 5 bedrooms all with en suite baths. The third floor is on large bedroom spanning the whole floor with tons of spare beds and full bath. This one-of-a-kind home has a huge wrap-around front porch and short path to the handicap-accessible back door. Sleeping Arrangement: 4 bedrooms on 2nd floor have queens, 1 bedroom has king. 3rd floor has two twin over full bunks and two single window beds. Bed linens and bath towels are provided. Second season under new owners and management! Two bedroom, one bath, comfortable and peaceful...This cottage is ideally situated on the South shore of Crystal Lake, about halfway (5 min. drive) from either Frankfort or Beulah. It has 82 feet of beautiful, private beach, large dock with platform, boat hoist, and is a short boat ride (or even paddle) to the sand bar. This is a quiet neighborhood of small cottages, and there are no roads to cross between the cottage and beach. (Please note that the map is incorrect in showing a road between cottage and beach). This cottage offers lots of privacy, tucked into woods on a few sides where you may observe deer or foxes. There is a lovely deck on front with an amazing view directly onto the large lawn, beach, and lake. There is a fire pit (on beach) and gas grill (outside cottage) as well as a wood-burning stove. Lots of outdoor space for kids (and adults!) to run and play or relax and unwind. Indoor space is cozy and comfortable, making even rainy days enjoyable for games, reading, or movies. It's a place for enjoying the best of the simple life and making memories to last a lifetime! (And, for modern convenience, it has internet and Hulu/Amazon/Netflix etc. enabled t.v. and DVD player). The surrounding area has so much to offer with many outstanding restaurants, bike and hiking trails, summer concerts and festivals, water sports, etc. There are beautiful public beaches on Lake Michigan as well as many pristine inland lakes and rivers for floating or paddling. This area has been recognized for many outstanding features that are easy and scenic drives, such as the Sleeping Bear Dunes (most beautiful place in America), Moomers Ice Cream (Best ice cream), numerous wineries, breweries, and distilleries, and local businesses (check out Gwen Frostic and Cherry Republic, for a couple examples). An additional 18 feet on the Eastern side, accessed by a landscaped path on the same side, is an easement access for 2 other cottages (owners and 1 other neighbor). Easement access is limited to walking to/from the lake and/or sitting with separate chairs on that 18 feet. Renters are also welcome to use this 18 feet to enjoy the full 100 or consider it a "neighboring beach" and enjoy the other 82! :)

Centennial House is a charming vacation rental home that is located in downtown Beulah, Michigan, just 1 block from scenic Crystal Lake in the paradise that is the northwest corner of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The house has actually been owned by the Wellman family ever since it was bought by Robert Wellman more than 100 years ago! This vacation home was closed for renovations and COVID concerns for most of 2020, but was remodeled during that timeframe with some great new additions: * A new full bathroom on the second floor was installed to provide two full bathrooms in the house * Two new 50-gallon hot water heaters were installed to provide plenty of hot water even for larger groups * A new electric range and refrigerator was installed in the kitchen * New flooring was implemented in the kitchen, downstairs bathroom, and the four seasons room The vacation house is approximately 2000 square feet in size. It has four bedrooms (all of which are upstairs and two of which have views of Crystal Lake) and two full bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs). Two of the bedrooms have queen-size beds in them, one of them has two twin-size beds in it, and the fourth bedroom has one twin-size bed. One of the bedrooms that has a queen-size bed in it also has a baby crib in the bedroom. ?The downstairs bathroom has a tub/ shower combination, toilet, sink, and mirror. The upstairs bathroom has a shower, toilet, sink, and mirror. Bedding (sheets and comforters) as well as towels are provided free of charge! In addition to the bedrooms (which sleep 7), the house has two futons downstairs that sleep an additional 4 people as well as a fold-out bed that sleeps one additional person. (Thus, in total, up to 12 people can sleep in the house.) This vacation home also has a large kitchen with a sink, new refrigerator, new electric range (stovetop and oven), microwave, toaster, and coffee pot. The kitchen also has a portable dishwasher that connects to the kitchen sink. (Directions for its use are provided.) There are a good selection of cooking and dining utensils in the kitchen that are all available for guests to use. Near the back door there is also a stackable washer and dryer. The Centennial House has a large living room and a large dining room that seats up to 8 people. It has both a front porch with a view of Benzie Blvd. as well as a newer back porch which has a nice view of Crystal Lake as well as a gas grill and outdoor chairs. Right next to the back porch is a lovely four seasons room that also has a nice view of Crystal Lake. With Crystal Lake just west of the house, both the back porch and the four seasons room provide beautiful views of the sun setting on Crystal Lake. This vacation house comes equipped with high-speed wi-fi as well as a television with live streaming via Hulu, Netflix, and PureFlix. (Hulu provides the equivalent of cable television, including local network channels.) The home does not have air conditioning (which is rarely needed given the proximity to Crystal Lake), but all bedrooms have portable fans. This vacation home is located in an incredible location! It's right on Benzie Blvd. in the heart of the cute little northern Michigan town of Beulah on Crystal Lake. It's very close to a number of wonderful attractions in the area. HOUSE HISTORY: The house has a very rich and fascinating history, which is intertwined with the history of the Wellman family and Benzie County itself. The Wellman family first arrived in Benzie County in 1862 when Emery Wellman came to the area to be a part of the homestead movement. The area was encouraged as a destination for homesteading because of the lumbering that was going on here at the time. Emery then left the area to join the Michigan troops that were fighting in the U.S. Civil War. When Emery returned to the area after the war was over, he returned to farming and literally married the “girl next door”, Olive Marshall, who was a daughter of the homesteaders on an adjacent farm, the Marshall family. ?The Marshall family had arrived by ox cart from Canada and has their own significant history in Benzie County. The mother was a widow and she and her children that come to northern Michigan to get a new start in life. One of Olive's brothers, Neil Marshall, was a Sheriff's Deputy and is the only law enforcement officer in the history of Benzie County to be killed in the line of duty. Neil Marshal was murdered in 1889 by the owner of a lumber camp when Neil went to the camp to attempt to collect taxes that were owed by the owner. Emery and Olive Wellman had seven children. One son died of influenza at the age of 2 and a daughter died at the age of 18 of tuberculosis. The farm was divided between the surviving children who continued to operate the farm until they died. The family farm (located outside of Beulah) has continued to stay in the family through the generations even up to the current day! One of Emery and Olive's sons, Robert Wellman, met and married the local school teacher, who was named Cora. Robert and Cora began a farm in the area and lived there until he got the job of Postmaster in Beulah. The job of Postmaster in Beulah required that Robert move into town, so the couple moved into town and Robert bought the house that we are now calling Centennial House. ? ?Robert and his wife had a son, W. Emory Wellman, who attended the nearby Interlochen Center for the Arts in 1930 for music and he actually performed with John Phillip Sousa. After graduation from high school, W. Emory attended Michigan Agricultural College (MAC, which is now Michigan State University) and studied to become a Landscape Architect. One summer in the 1930's while home from MAC W. Emory planted a birch tree in back of the house for his mother. As shown in the photo to the left, this is the same birch tree that the back deck for the house is now built around! After his time at MAC, W. Emory moved to southeast Michigan for work and he worked in Pontiac, Birmingham, and then completed his career as head of the Parks department for the City of Detroit. He married a woman named Flora and had 5 children. After retiring, W. Emory and Flora moved to Beulah to retire to the house (now called Centennial House) that he had first lived in as a child. A cute childhood photo of Flora Emory is shown to the right and is hanging in the upstairs hallway of the house. After the death of W. Emory Wellman and his wife Flora, the 4 surviving siblings (who are now senior citizens and are the grandchildren of the original builder, Robert Wellman) along with the son of the oldest sibling (who has passed away) have come together to form an LLC to manage the historic family home and share it with others who come to see the incredible beauty of northern Michigan. The Wellman family has lovingly decorated the house with a number of old photographs and historical documents that are hanging in the house and that add to the wonderful historic character of the home. We are truly honored to be working with the Wellman family on marketing and managing such an incredible home! SPECIFIC HOUSE RULES: * Pets: Centennial House is a pet-friendly property and allows up to 2 dogs. Pets other than dogs or more than 2 dogs are not permitted. There is a $75 pet fee to help us cover the additional cleaning cost associated with pets. We do ask that guests pick-up after their dogs. * Smoking / Candles: Smoking of any kind is not permitted in the house! Similarly, candles or any other kind of open flame are also not permitted. * Sheets / Towels: Sheets and bath towels are provided free of charge. Beach towels are not provided. Please bring your own beach towels and do not take bath towels to the beach. * Dishes: We ask guests to fully wash and put away any dishes, pots, pans, and/or silverware that they may have used prior to departure. * Grilling: We provide an outdoor propane grill and we do provide propane as well. We ask that guests completely shut-off the propane supply at the tank after grilling and that guests also clean the grill before check-out if they have used it. Also, for safety considerations, please do not use the grill next to the house. Please keep the grill at least 5 feet away from the side of the house. * Fish Cleaning: Fish cleaning is not permitted inside the house. Also, any fish remains must be disposed of at a local fish cleaning station and not put in with the normal garbage for the house. * Quiet Hours: The house is located in a family-friendly neighborhood environment and, for the benefit of everyone in the neighborhood, we ask that guests be quiet outside between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. * Parking: Parking is only permitted in the paved parking area behind the house or on the street in front of the house. Parking on grass is strictly prohibited! * Check-in / Check-out Times: To allow us to have the home properly cleaned and prepared for incoming guests, we ask that guests check-out by 11:00 AM and that new guests arrive after 3:00 PM. Check-out prior to 11:00 AM is particularly important as our cleaning personnel normally start cleaning the house promptly at noon upon the day of check-out. If an early check-in and/or a late check-out is needed, please contact us to see if we can accommodate this. * Reservations made for Others: It is required that the person placing the reservation stay at the property each night for the duration of the reservation. We do not allow reservations to be made for other people.

Crystal Calm Suite 2 welcomes each of its guests into a 1,000 square foot oasis of easy living and beautifully decorated surroundings with a Village view. Two private bedrooms sleep four, with a queen bed in one room and two twin beds in the second.  The three-piece tub/shower bathroom is stocked with essential toiletries, hair dryer and clean linens.  A fully equipped kitchen includes a dishwasher, range, refrigerator and microwave as well as ample cookware, dishware, glassware and utensils.  Bar seating for four and a dining table for six is situated between the kitchen and living area with comfortable sofa and chairs to watch TV, read, relax and fellowship.  A TV and closeted guest laundry facility are located in the queen bedroom.
